Services Provided: Overhead Cam and Instant Digital Photographer
The Red Bull BC One is a breakdance competition that was held at the Pipe Shop in North Vancouver. We worked with MC Arthur Storm and in co-operation with the Red Bull team, setup a photo station and overhead camera for the guests to have fun at.

Featuring DJ’s such as local legend DJ Flipout, the place was packed and the energy was high. The competition was happening on the main floor in the middle while we were setup at one of the corners with a big Red Bull vinyl flooring.
Our first activation for the night was the Overhead Cam. This featured a camera suspended above the guests, shooting straight down. We wanted the bboys and bgirls to show off their moves but from a different perspective.
The Birds Eye point of view allowed for the Red Bull branding to shine front and centre and provided the perfect backdrop for the guests to dance on.
We mainly focused on the video outputs to show off the movements, but we also did still photos. These were great for non dancers and parents who came along just to show support.
Our workflow allowed guests to download their clips right away to their mobile devices. Whether it was pictures or video, their files were ready as soon as they were finished posing. Great for social media sharing during the event!
After each session, our attendant would let the guests preview their output right away for a re-do, or show them the tablet for the guests to grab their files instantly. Everyone loved this unique setup and we were able to capture over a hundred different outputs!
Beside the Overhead Cam, we also had our Photography Station. We setup lights and hooked up our camera to our instant digital workflow so that guests could download their images right away. From the same Tablet kiosks, the guests could grab their overhead or photography images.
Our favourite thing about this setup was that we could use the main event floor as the background! Red Bull setup some really nice lighting so we were able to capture that as the background. Whether it was group photos, or dance poses, this type of setup is perfect when the background is amazing and we need to have more control over the lighting.
